What do they do (Role and Activities) 

Comites are not consular offices and do not issue documents or passports. Their main activities include: 

• Representation: They listen to the daily needs of the community (school, work, care) and bring them to the attention of the Consulate and institutions. 

• Integration and Assistance: Support for newcomers and protection for the most vulnerable groups. 

• Cultural Promotion: Organization of events, language courses, and enhancement of Italian heritage. 

• School Support: They issue binding opinions on the allocation of government funds for Italian language and culture courses. 

Information That Must Be Provided to Users 

The Comites must ensure a constant flow of useful information for life abroad, including: 

• Consular services and local authorities: Guides and instructions to navigate Italian bureaucracy and that of your country of residence (e.g., AIRE registration, taxation, healthcare). 

• Cultural and Educational Opportunities: Details on language courses, scholarships, and initiatives to promote "Made in Italy.". 

• Rights and Protection: Information and support on civil rights and social assistance for vulnerable groups. 

• Contact Channels: Clear information on how to actively participate in community life and how to contact elected representatives.
